I am a mother, with experience in education and training in Conscious Parenting, which has helped me become even more attentive to each child.

What moves me most is seeing what happens when a child feels truly heard, seen and safe. That is where I feel we can build relationships that make a difference.

It is a pleasure to be part of this team and to grow alongside everyone in this community.

Since I was little, I have said I would become a teacher or a vet. And here I am, doing what I always hoped to do!

With an innate love for children, I embrace a conscious, empathetic and holistic approach to education. I grow a little myself as I watch them grow.

Founder of the SER Community

I am a tutor for Years 1–6, passionate about human development, health and the wonderful world of childhood.

For many years I was a nurse, a profession that remains part of who I am. I carry that care, attentiveness and presence with me — the certainty that caring means much more than treating.

I deeply believe in relationships, connection and love as essential parts of growth and wellbeing. There are many remedies in life, but I believe love remains one of the best.

Forever passionate about play. I celebrate growing independence and learning that begins naturally with curiosity, genuine questions, projects and building things.

I enjoy listening to children and helping them think about the world around them. This year I will be here every afternoon, offering additional support for school tutoring, the regular playgroup and late-afternoon play.

May it be a wonderful year for everyone!

I am a mother of two and have been part of the SER Community for four years. I have been called an aunt and a grandmother… and I admit I like every title. My speciality is affection and cuddles.

At SER I find what I love most every day: children with room to play, explore nature and experience childhood at their own pace.

For years, my place was in a laboratory, among questions, experiments and discoveries. Then motherhood arrived — bringing a new question: could we educate differently?

For six years I have been exploring education, seeking more meaningful learning, closer to life and to each child. SER grew from that need. I coordinate Great Discoveries and tutor Mathematics and Estudo do Meio, the Portuguese primary subject exploring the natural and social world.

The journey continues, with new questions every day, a sparkle in our eyes and plenty of laughter.

I am a mother of two. This year I lead psychomotor development, expressive arts, yoga and RESCUR sessions with all the groups.

What inspires me most is the magic of the body in motion, the freedom of dance and the power of creativity. I love the richness of play, expression and human interaction.

With this care, enthusiasm and an open heart, I begin the new school year, ready to journey, grow and learn.

I am a mother of three boys and have a degree in Human Resources. I have more than 12 years of experience in home education and have been part of SER for around two and a half years.

I support the Year 1 group, a very special stage filled with discoveries and achievements, particularly in reading and writing. It is a privilege to create a safe, curious and stimulating environment where each child can grow and learn at their own pace.

What connects me to SER is being part of an educational project that values each child’s individuality and respects their rhythms, interests and needs, making learning more human, meaningful, ecological and joyful.

The team and our children affectionately call me Regi. I have three children and trained as a healthcare assistant, but cooking is my passion.

I began at SER providing temporary support in the kitchen, and now I am part of this lovely community. My work focuses on operational and educational support: meals, cleaning and organising our spaces.

I will also lead cooking workshops for the children. Together, we will continue learning and exploring new challenges in the art of cooking!

Founder of the SER Community

Read their story — Rita Silva

I have been part of the SER educational community for around a year. I began as a carer for the Aventureiros group, an experience that helped me get to know the community and the children closely.

I now work in the cooperative’s management and internal organisation team and lead the ITUPICA Creative Workshop, developing creative projects with the children.

These are different but complementary areas: one through organisation and structure, the other through creativity and making. This balance between organising and creating is how I contribute to SER.

The world of childhood helps me grow every day. Being part of SER allows me to contribute to an approach to education I believe in and to a better world.

I have a special interest in creativity, movement and multimedia. I enjoy photography, filming and creating, and bringing these interests into everyday life.

I am very happy to share another year of these special moments with the children.

At SER, I coordinate the First Explorations groups pedagogically (ages 3–6), lead the Playgroup for babies and families, and run a weekly Creative Atelier session.

I am the one who is almost always barefoot, with paint on my clothes, cutting lemons and cucumbers for the mud kitchen. I love creating, inventing and transforming outdoor play spaces.

Taís

Taís

Art therapist, atelier facilitator and friend of scribbles

Read their story — Taís

My background is in art education, art therapy and psycho-expressive practices. I see art and free expression as paths to development and emotional regulation at any age, for children and adults alike.

I believe creating is not just about making something beautiful, but giving space to feelings we cannot put into words. An aesthetic awareness develops alongside this process.

It is with great affection that I bring this magical tool back to the children for our second year together.

Tiago Oliveira

Tiago Oliveira

Mathematics and English tutor

Read their story — Tiago Oliveira

Learning can be part of our happy childhood memories too. With this in mind, I explore Mathematics and English, nurturing each child’s curiosity through play and shared discoveries.

I seek ways of learning that make sense to the child in front of me, with time to experiment, make mistakes and try again.

I believe the relationship comes first. Facing a difficulty is easier when someone beside us listens and offers a hand. For me, teaching begins with that trust, which allows us to grow and learn without fear.
